Love Island's Maya Jama has publicly asked Grok, the AI chatbot integrated into X, not to edit or modify any photos of her following recent, widespread concern around how the AI tool is being used.

Grok, the chatbot developed by Elon Musk's company xAI, said it is fixing "lapses in safeguards" after social media users said it was generating sexualized photos of minors.

It comes after regulator Ofcom said it contacted X after reports that users have prompted the tool to generate sexualised images of people.

Texas lawmakers want Attorney General Ken Paxton to investigate X over claims its AI chatbot Grok is generating sexually explicit images of women and children.
